On the following day when he saw Jesus coming to him, he said: ‘Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. This is the one about whom I said ‘After me comes a man who has surpassed me because he existed before me. And I did not recognise him, though I came to baptise with water, so that he might be revealed to Israel.’

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is discord, union; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy, For your mercy and for your truth’s sake.
