Acts 2 25-29

For David says about him (Jesus):
I saw before me the Lord always
for he is at my right hand lest I will be shaken.
Therefore my heart was gladdened and my tongue was joyful,
yet my flesh will live in hope
for you will not abandon my soul to Hades
nor will you let your holy one see decay
You have made known to me the paths of life
with your presence, you will fill me with gladness.

Brothers/sisters, it is fitting to speak,
with boldness
to you
about the patriarch David-
that he died and has been buried
and his tomb is with us
until this day.

Teach us, good Lord,
to serve thee as thou deservest;
to give and not to count the cost;
to fight and not to heed the wounds;
to toil and not to seek for rest;
to labour and not to ask for any reward,
save that of knowing that we do thy will,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
