But someone will say
‘(When the dead are raised) how (is it possible that) are the dead raised ?
And with what kind of body will they come?
You foolish person,
what you sow
does not come to life
unless it has died.
And what you sow –
you do not sow the body which is to become
but a bare grain
-if you like
of wheat
or some such thing.
But
God gives to it
a body as he chose,
and to each seed
It’s own kind of body.
All (kinds of) flesh are not the same flesh,
but one (kind) for humans
another flesh for animals.
and another for birds,
and another for fish.
Likewise (there are) celestial bodies
and earthly bodies.
The glory of the celestial (bodies) is one kind
and the (glory) of the (earthly) bodies another.
(There is) one glory for the Sun,
and another glory of the Moon,
and another glory of the stars.
For a star differs from a star in glory.
Be thou a bright flame before me,
Be thou a guiding star above me
Be thou a smooth path below me
Be thou a kindly shepherd behind me
Today – tonight -forever
Amen.
