And as Jesus was passing by, he saw a man, who had been blind from birth.
And his disciples asked him: ‘Rabbi, who sinned – this man or his parents – causing him to be born blind?’
Jesus answered ‘Neither this man sinned nor his parents, but (he was born blind) with the result that the works of God might be revealed in his case. We must do the works of the one who sent me while there is daylight. Night is coming when nobody can work. While I am in the world, I am a light for the world. ‘
Having said these things, he spat on the ground and made mud with the spittle, and spread the mud on his eyes then he said to him: ‘Get up and wash in the pool of Siloam (which means ‘Sent’. So the man left and washed; then he went home, able to see.

Grant, Lord,
that we may hold to you without parting,
worship you without wearying,
serve you without failing;
faithfully seek you,
happily find you,
and forever possess you,
the only God,blessed now and for ever.
