Most assuredly,
sexual immorality is reported (to be) among you,
and immorality of a such as a kind
which (is) not among the pagans,
in that someone has the wife of his father.
And are you ‘puffed up’
-should you rather not grieve?
And have you removed from your midst
the one who did this deed?
For I, for my part
(am) away in the body,
but
(present) in the Spirit,
already
have resolved (what should be done) –
as (if present)
to the one who perpetrated this in this way
in the name of (our) Lord Jesus –
my spirit and yours coming together –
with the power of our Lord Jesus,
to hand over this one to Satan
for destruction of the fleshly ,
so that (his?) spirit might be saved
on the day of the Lord.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, union;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy,
For your mercy and for your truth’s sake. Amen
